The Venice Biennale is one of the most important contemporary art events in the world, with the participation of dozens of countries through their national pavilions and its open-mindedness towards avant-garde approaches. This catalogue presents the project ?unete! / Join us! created by Jordi Colomer, together with curator Manuel Segade. It is a proposal that combines video, sculpture and architecture; a rich and complex work with many references and layers of meaning, which seeks the viewer s complicity from its very title. This invitation is, after all, an argument in favour of art as an invigorating and mobilising tool, one that is able to generate a reflection upon trending issues of our time, about our condition as individuals and also as part of a community. Arte viva (live/alive art), as the Biennale s motto reads. In Venice, in the contemporary art centre, Spain s pavilion poses an invitation to get to know the vitality of a country where culture and arts stand as key assets.
