Super Drawings in 3D

Battleship USS North Carolina

Not for sale in Poland!

Launched in 1940, North Carolina was the first U.S. newly built battleship to have taken part in the war in the Pacific. During her busy combat career she demonstrated that battleships could perform very well indeed in their new role as escorts for fleet aircraft carriers and weapon platforms providing fire support for ground troops. Having earned no fewer than 15 Battle Stars during her wartime service, North Carolina was the most highly decorated US Navy battleship of World War II. After decommissioning, she escaped the chopping block and is preserved to this day as a floating museum

Reviews

"Another of the aptly named series of 'Super Drawings in 3D' from Kagero and looking at the WW2 US Navy battleship, the USS North Carolina. Only launched in 1940, the North Carolina was the newest build battleship in the US Navy at the time. With a main armament of 9x 16in guns plus a variety of secondary armament and AA weapons she had a busy wartime career and survived the war. Despite being a relatively 'young' build she was de-commissioned in 1947, though saved from the scrap man's torch by public support from her name state so she remains as a floating museum in Wilmington, North Carolina. A soft-cover book of 80 pages it begins with the background story of the vessel, and then a series of simply excellent 3D computer images showing not only the ship but super detail around radars, bridge structure, main and secondary armament along with the aircraft crane and catapults for the two aircraft at the stern of the ship. The level of detail is especially helpful for modellers, including things like the ships railings for example, if you want to duplicate these on a model, and in the case of the North Carolina, an excellent guide for the multi-colour dazzle camouflage that was applied to her. To add to the colour artworks, a larger sheet with scale plans is tucked into the book, and which folds out to give useful 1/350 scale drawings of the complete ship" – Military Modelling.com
