Fields of Focus

"Fields of Focus" is Robin Fulton's first collection of poetry since his "Selected Poems" 1963-1978, and brings together poems written between 1974 and 1979. Like his previous work, this volume centres on themes of time and space and on the precariousness of the human ego caught within them. As Roger Garfitt wrote in "Stand", "he is a poet who brings his mind to bear on the evidence of his senses, and who is concerned, in particular, to inhabit the time dimension as sensitively as he inhabits the other three". Reflected with particular vividness in this book is Fulton's visual response to the Scandinavian landscapes among which he lives and works.
