About the Author

Wade E. Pickren current Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence at Ithaca College and Editor of History of Psychology received his PhD in Psychology and the History of Science from the University of Florida. He served as the historian of the American Psychological Association from 1998 to 2012 and recently completed a term as President of the Society for General Psychology. He is also Past-President of the Society for the History of Psychology and a Fellow of four APA Divisions. Additionally, he is co-editor of the book series International and Cultural Psychology and the Editor-in-Chief of the Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of the History of Psychology. In addition to APA, Pickren's professional affiliations include the New York Academy of Science, Cheiron: International Society for the History of the Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Eastern Psychological Association, and the Association for Psychological Science. He lives in Dryden, NY.
