Bodleian Library Publishing

Since 1602, when created by its father sir Thomas Bodley, the mission of the Bodleian Library has been to make books accessible to all in need of knowledge. In 2009 the Library was said to be home for over 11 million volumes and manuscripts.

The Bodleian Library Publishing offers a wide selection of more and less scholarly books on a wide range of subjects such as cookery and food, cartography and sports history. These publications are based or draw from the Library’s rich collection of books, manuscripts, maps and postcards. The Bodleian Library Publishing takes pride in its facsimiles and reprints or works based on manuscripts and rare old books.
