About the Author

Rie Yamada is a popular Japanese carving artist. After discovering the art in 2004, she traveled to Thailand – the origin of carving – and honed her technique among some of the best in the world. She started her own carving class, Atelier RIN, in Osaka in 2013 and is the author of three other books about carving.
