Ahlan Wa Sahlan

Intermediate Text

Designed for students at the intermediate level who are continuing to develop overall proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic, this book follows Mahdi Alosh's popular "Ahlan wa Sahlan" beginner's text. The narrative follows two young characters whose personal journals provide not only reading passages for students but glimpses into various Arab cultures as the characters travel to Cairo, Jordan, and Syria. This revision includes revised communicative activities and grammar, an updated and expanded audio programme, a companion Web site, and full-colour design.

About the Author

Mahdi Alosh is associate dean for international affairs at the United States Military Academy.

Allen Clark is an Arabic instructor and the director of the Arabic program at the University of Mississippi.

Reviews

"'Ahlan wa Sahlan', in its newly enhanced form, will continue to be what it has already been: an excellent syllabus with which Arabic-language programs and individual courses can introduce learners to the language, creating a user-friendly environment within which both teacher and learner can operate with comfort and profit" – Roger Allen, University of Pennsylvania

"The appealing presentation and the variety of approaches to learning are commendable... I found this course package to be both rich and enriching" – Mohammad Al-Masri, The University of Oklahoma, The Modern Language Journal
